Wildlife
My goal as an artist is to create opportunities for communication through visual art. The imagery in this section was created in an attempt to engage the viewer in a meaningful conversation about nature and raise awareness about conservation. As an artist I have always been intrigued and captivated by the raw beauty of the natural world. I find myself constantly drawing inspiration from nature’s immense diversity and seemingly endless variety of shapes, textures and colors.
Some of the art works shown in this gallery reflect my personal experiences and ideas directly influenced by the time I spent in South Africa. These works attempt to underline the ever growing anthropogenic environmental impact and raise awareness about fragile ecosystems we ought to preserve. The abundance of textures, limited palette and overall earthiness of tonality represent my personal interpretation of these ideas in a streamlined and direct fashion while attempting to capture and relate the essence of a world we are so deeply connected to. They promote awareness of the role we play in sustaining a harmonious relationship with the rest of the living world and our environment. I see in this an opportunity to truly fulfill our potential as human beings.
